- Logo's History | Assoc. Amici LVF
Logo The Logo of this Association was created by Chiara Mensa , great-granddaughter of Luigi Vittorio Ferraris and daughter of Marina Petteruti Romano, one of the Founding Members and granddaughter of the Ambassador. The acquaintance between Chiara and Luigi Vittorio, albeit brief for reasons of age, shines through in the creation of a Logo that reflects in synthesis Luigi Vittorio's love of books, read and written, and his passion for Diplomacy to which the Ambassador sought to bring young students of all backgrounds closer, in respect and defense of human rights and collaboration among peoples. The supporting structure of the Logo encloses the three letters LVF of the Ambassador's name, and develops vertically and horizontally. Vertically with the interplay of the empty and full of the characters L and V, which give a glimpse into the L the shaft of a fountain pen, which is drawn in Vittorio's V. Pair of these two vertical letters contrasted with Ferraris's horizontally unfolding F to represent the openness to others manifested by the Ambassador in his character always open to human relations. Thus we have the vertical of diplomacy supporting the horizontal of society. That is, the strength of diplomatic action, expressed through treaties and written books of which the Ambassador has often been the author and co-author, in the cooperation acting at the international level to achieve good among Peoples. The round badge inscribing the Logo is surrounded by the inscription “Association of Friends of Luigi Vittorio Ferraris,” to represent a globe, as an expression of the international character of the thought and work carried out by the Professor and so dear to him. Finally, the colors red and white to recall the family banner kept in the country villa in Vaccarile in the Marche region of Italy. Chiara Mensa Great-granddaughter of the Ambassador Luigi Vittorio Ferraris and daughter of Marina Petteruti Romano Born in Rome, she received a five-year single-cycle degree “EU Architecture” (B. arch equivalent) from the University of Rome “ La Sapienza” in 2012. The meeting was a unique opportunity to explore the topic of artificial intelligence, with an in-depth look at its risks and benefits. Tiziana Catarci offered stimulating insights and future perspectives on ethics in the use of technology, emphasizing the need for a conscious and responsible approach. Coraggio! is a series of meetings focused on cross-cutting issues of great relevance, involving a network of women ready to confront and support each other. Pizza and Politics Pizza and Politics is an innovative format that aims to bring politics and current events closer to young people. Organized in collaboration with the Festival of Diplomacy and the Hanns Seidel Foundation, this project was created to engage the younger generation in an active conversation about contemporary political and social issues. The idea is to go beyond traditional formalities, creating an informal and convivial atmosphere, just like a chat among friends over pizza. The main goal of the initiative is to offer participants the opportunity to engage with experts in the field, from various spheres of the political, diplomatic and cultural landscape. During the meetings, young people can express their ideas, ask questions, and explore topical issues in an inclusive and dynamic setting. Pizza and Politics is not just an event, but an experience that aims to stimulate critical thinking, encouraging dialogue and the active participation of young people in public life. Coraggio! Violence against women A reality with many faces Thursday, 23 November, 2023 Six Senses Hotel - Rome On Nov. 23, 2023, a few days after the tragic death of Giulia Cecchettin, a meeting entitled “Violence against women: a reality with many faces” was held. Sponsored by the Associazione Amici di Luigi Vittorio Ferraris, the event featured Katharina Fuchs , an expert from the Institute of Psychology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, and Viviana Straccia , a criminal defense lawyer and founder of the Association of Jurists in Gender. The discussion delved into the many facets of a social problem that is still far from being resolved, highlighting the psychological, legal and cultural dynamics that fuel gender-based violence. During the meeting, the panelists analyzed the difficulties in preventing and combating violence against women, emphasizing the urgency of coordinated intervention between education, institutions and legislation. The reflections highlighted not only systemic gaps, but also the need for a profound cultural change that starts with the recognition of women's value and rights. It was an evening of intense discussion, dedicated to the memory of Giulia and all victims, with the goal of transforming suffering into an impulse for concrete and collective action. Acanto Project Note dal mondo, radici in armonia The Coraggio! project encompasses a series of mentoring and networking meetings reserved for women, promoted by the Associazione Amici di Luigi Vittorio Ferraris in collaboration with the Hanns Seidel Italia/Vatican Foundation. This project includes a series of meetings focused on cross-cutting themes of politics, economics, cooperation and society, involving a virtuous network of women ready to constructively confront and support each other. Courage! was created with the intention of creating synergy and awareness among women who, despite challenges, have managed to carve out a meaningful space for themselves in society. These women represent the authentic value of women's identity and the potential it brings. As Ambassador Luigi Vittorio Ferraris emphasized, it is crucial to put the focus on the person at the center, a principle that guides us in our work. We want awareness of the value of women not to remain an isolated fact, but to radiate into society as a whole, so that gender distinction becomes secondary to the person. We cannot achieve this goal without women themselves gaining courage and awareness of their own strength. It is essential to overcome an anachronistic view, and to make clear the invaluable contribution that the female component makes to the collective well-being. Together, we can build a future in which human value is recognized beyond gender, promoting a more just and inclusive society. The project aims to culminate in final meetings in which women and men will be free to move and engage with each other in the audience regardless of the gender of those present. We want to land on a space where every voice can be heard by promoting open and constructive dialogue.
